Turning Chat into Sales: Taking Payment Inside the Conversation

Published: June 27, 2026 · 2 min read

The classic flow goes like this: the customer asks, you answer, then you say 'you can pay at this link' — and more often than not, the customer gets lost on that link. Yet the moment of highest intent to buy is right there inside the conversation. Presenting products and taking payment without leaving the chat turns that warm moment into a sale. Here's how to set it up.

Why 'redirect to a link' loses sales

Every extra step — a new tab, a new site, a new form — is a leak point in the sale. The customer loses focus, reconsiders the price, or simply gives up.

Completing the sale without breaking the flow of the conversation closes that leak and catches the moment they've decided.

Introduce your products to the assistant

To sell in chat, the assistant needs to know your products — name, price, short description. Once you define these, the assistant can suggest the right product for the right question.

So a question like 'do you have the red one, how much?' gets answered instantly with the right product and price.

Taking payment inside the conversation

When the customer wants to buy, the assistant can present a secure payment link (e.g. Stripe). The customer completes payment in a few taps, without leaving the conversation.

This turns a DM directly into a paid order — with no step lost in between.

After the order: follow-up and delivery

The work doesn't end when the sale does. Order confirmation, delivery info and any follow-up questions can be handled in the same conversation.

Order history gathered in one place makes life easier for both you and the customer, and sets the stage for repeat sales.

Trust and transparency

Selling in chat works only with trust: a clear price, open return/shipping info, and a real payment provider. Ambiguity kills the sale.

When the assistant gives this information clearly and consistently, the customer says 'yes' with confidence.

Summary

Close the sale where the customer is most willing — inside the conversation. Introduce your products to the assistant, collect payment via a secure link without leaving the chat, track the order in the same place, and be transparent. Bubix offers this flow — product catalog, in-chat payment (Stripe) and order tracking — in one panel.
